Deep Tissue Massage: Relaxation and Pain Relief

Deep tissue massage is a specialized technique focused on releasing tension in the deeper layers of muscle tissue. This type of massage uses a slightly higher pressure to help penetrate deeper into the muscles and effectively relieve accumulated tension. The movements are slower and carefully controlled, ensuring maximum comfort and effectiveness.

Unlike sports massage, which is more dynamic and often includes stretching, deep tissue massage is calmer and allows the body to relax completely without the need for active engagement. This approach is ideal for those seeking deep relaxation and effective muscle release.

Procedure for Deep Tissue Massage

Consultation at Reception

Upon arrival at the reception, we kindly ask you for a brief consultation regarding your health status so we can provide you with the best possible care. Please inform us if you have:

  1. Chronic illnesses or allergies
  2. Injuries or problems with the heart or blood pressure
  3. Skin problems or other serious health conditions

This information will help us ensure that your deep tissue massage is not only pleasant but also safe and tailored to your needs.

You can also specify the intensity of the massage according to your preferences. We are happy to listen to your specific wishes and concerns, so we can focus on what is important to you.

Preparation for a Deep Tissue Massage

After a consultation at the reception, your therapist will welcome you and accompany you to the massage room, where an environment has been created to maximize therapeutic benefits. Comfortably settle onto the heated massage table and prepare yourself for the massage.

Based on the information you have provided, the therapist is ready to tailor the massage to your needs. Throughout the deep tissue massage, you can relax and focus on your recovery and overall well-being.

What to Expect During a Deep Tissue Massage

The therapist will begin with gentle touches to prepare your body for the massage. Using massage oil, they will gradually move to more intensive kneading to improve blood circulation, release tense muscles, and remove energy blockages.

During the massage, the therapist will focus mainly on the back, neck, and legs to thoroughly stimulate circulation and relieve tension in these areas. At the end of the massage, a menthol balm will be applied to the back and neck to further help relax the muscles. The massage concludes with a relaxing head massage, providing an overall sense of relaxation and well-being.

Rest After the Massage

After the massage is over, you can rest quietly for a few minutes to allow your body to fully absorb the positive effects of the massage. Afterward, you will be offered a cup of tea to support relaxation.

Deep tissue massage is a comprehensive therapy that not only provides physical relief but also supports your overall mental well-being.

Recommended clothing for deep massage

Disposable underwear is available for free at the reception.

During a deep tissue massage, the client is in their underwear; for ladies, it is recommended to remove the bra. Disposable underwear is available at the reception and can be requested. After the massage, you can take a shower.

Recommended Duration of Deep Tissue Massage

For a deep tissue massage, we recommend a duration of 90 minutes. This time frame allows the therapist to thoroughly address every part of the body and effectively work on releasing deeply held muscles and tension. A shorter duration, such as 60 minutes, may be limited to smaller areas and may not provide the full therapeutic effect needed for comprehensive relaxation and recovery.

Pressure and Intensity in Deep Tissue Massage

Open communication with our therapists is key to achieving maximum therapeutic effect during a deep tissue massage. The client has the option to regulate the pressure and intensity of the massage throughout the procedure according to their needs. If you experience any discomfort or pain during the massage, please do not hesitate to inform the therapist. Our experienced therapists will adjust the massage techniques to ensure your maximum comfort and effective results.

When to Consider a Deep Tissue Massage?

Are you experiencing stiffness or tension in your back, neck, thoracic or lumbar spine, or discomfort in your arms or legs? Our massage can help!

A deep tissue massage effectively releases tight muscles and provides relief from tension. It's ideal for anyone experiencing muscle imbalance — whether it's tight or weakened muscles causing discomfort.

If you spend long hours at a computer or are an active athlete, deep tissue massage can help restore proper muscle function and bring a sense of lightness and freedom. It is also beneficial for those with a sedentary lifestyle, overweight, or habits that lead to tension and pain. Treat yourself to the care your body deserves!

How long does the body ache after a deep tissue massage, and why is it a positive sign?

After a massage, muscle soreness may occur due to delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). This mild muscle sensitivity is a natural response of the body to the release of tension and typically:

  1. Lasts only a short time: Pain or sensitivity usually lasts for 24 to 48 hours.
  2. Indicates the effectiveness of the massage: It means that the massage effectively released tension in the muscles.
  3. Quickly subsides: It naturally fades away, leaving you with a feeling of greater lightness and relaxation.
  4. Can be easily alleviated: Drinking plenty of water, resting, and using warm or cold compresses can help reduce the soreness.
  5. Provides long-term benefits: Despite the short-term sensitivity, the massage offers long-term relief from pain and an overall improvement in well-being.
