Traditional Thai Massage: Relaxation for Body and Mind
Traditional Thai massage, also known as Thai Yoga Massage, helps you relax, improve mobility, and relieve muscle tension. The therapist focuses on the entire body, including the back, gluteal muscles, legs (both front and back), arms, head, and shoulders.
The techniques used include applying pressure with hands and feet. No oils or creams are used, and pressure is applied along the body’s energy lines. The massage also includes passive stretching.
How Does a Traditional Thai Massage Work?
Initial Consultation
Upon arrival, please inform the reception of your preferences, areas you’d like to focus on during the massage, and whether you’ve had a traditional Thai massage before. If you have any health issues, such as blood pressure problems, heart conditions, or if you’ve had an injury, please let us know so that we can tailor the massage to your needs. Based on this information, the reception will gladly recommend the most suitable procedure.
Preparation and Start
The therapist will greet you and guide you to the massage room, which has soothing lighting and calming music playing. Based on your preferences, you will be offered clothing suitable for a traditional Thai massage. During this time, you can begin to relax and wait for the therapist to arrive. The therapist will have already received all the necessary information from the reception to fully focus on your massage.
The Process of a Traditional Thai Massage
The traditional Thai massage begins in a comfortable and relaxed position on your back, with the client dressed in loose and comfortable clothing. The massage is usually performed on a massage table at Eden’s Garden, but it can also be done on a mat upon request with the reception.
The therapist starts the massage with gentle stretching and pressure to loosen the muscles and prepare the body for a deeper massage. With rhythmic movements, the therapist stimulates the feet, gradually releasing the energy lines and moving upwards. This process restores the flow of energy and induces deep relaxation.
Tea Serving
After the massage, you’ll have some time to rest and relax. Then, you will be offered a cup of tea, which promotes relaxation and hydrates the body.
