This Hawaiian oil massage is very similar to the Swedish relaxing oil massage. The difference is that the therapists will also use the elbows and forearms; thus, the pressure is more intense compared to the normal relaxing oil massage.

Lomi Lomi massage is actually originated in Hawaii and is based on the “Huna” teachings. The Huna philosophy teaches that everything in life is a quest for harmony and love. Lomi Lomi massage, which means “loving hands” in Hawaiian, is a soothing massage that benefits the body and helps in overall relaxation.

An important part of the massage is the therapy, which consists in the transfer of the healing energy through the touch of the therapist’s hands. To release the blocked energy, stress and muscle tension, the therapist uses smooth and harmonious movements of the traditional method that includes both shallow and deep kneading strokes.
